In cases like that I often keep an eye out for a sale to buy the book, knowing there will likely be difficulties in my finishing it on the library's timetable.

That said, having the deadline can also be helpful. I bought Pillars probably a year ago and in spite of hearing great things, I just can't bring myself to crack the ~1000 page cover and dive into it, knowing that it will consume me and all my other reading time.

Still, I hope to at least start it before the end of the year. I don't have cable so the HBO special isn't a motivator for me...at least not until it comes to DVD, by which time I hope to have the book(s) read.

Enjoy...and good luck.Okiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01393689307300304035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3790495147597408531.post-46773114635787268552010-08-30T14:21:21.803-04:002010-08-30T14:21:21.803-04:00Have fun : )Have fun : )Amy Saiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00346366018143891761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3790495147597408531.post-69750004192118534842010-08-30T01:20:58.924-04:002010-08-30T01:20:58.924-04:00Usually I shy away from long books..of fiction. So if a book's good enough, length doesn't have to be an insurmountable problem.

Though I still have never made it through War and Peace.Travenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05160810997837674165noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3790495147597408531.post-782413608566330272010-08-30T01:19:22.853-04:002010-08-30T01:19:22.853-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Travenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05160810997837674165noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3790495147597408531.post-49831795444919124532010-08-29T20:14:57.340-04:002010-08-29T20:14:57.340-04:00This is becoming even more of a challenge. Despite its length, I blitzed through it quite fast, because it does keep you turning the pages. I really liked it, but it is not one of those re-read books that I truly love.Ted Crosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09022309459554237650noreply@blogger.com
