Thanks for all your kind words last week. I'm feeling much better now. Amazing what a few days on the road with nothing to do can accomplish. I keep trying to write something new, but not much headway there. Instead, I spent the day honing my synopsis. Frustrating, but more and more agents want to see these things. A brief synopsis, they call it. How brief? Not clear. I ended up with 1700 single spaced words on three pages. How does that sound?
And I'm thinking of posting my query. Anyone want to read it?

It's lovely to hear that you're feeling better (have been reading your blog from afar, hehe).
Good luck with your writing! I can check out your query if you like or send you mine. I'm no expert but mine caught the interest of several agents (I have an agent and separate publisher) so I must have done something right!
My agent asked for a 2-page, single-spaced synopsis. I think 3 is just fine. Synopses are SO hard to write. Not fun. Because we're doing the opposite of what we're supposed to do in novels: telling instead of showing.
I'd love to see your query!
Ack! I tried to write one of those once... it has to be one of the worst parts about trying to make it in this biz. The query, and the synopsis...
I've heard the synopsis is a bear to write.
